II.  BEHAVIOR

Discipline Policy

St. Albert the Great School, as a part of the larger community of St. Albert the Great Parish, recognizes, supports, and will incorporate the "Code for Everyday Living".

The following steps will apply when appropriate:

STEP I:  PROBATION

A warning to the student with notification to the parent and the coach or leader will be dispensed. At this time, if needed, a conference with student, parents and teachers will be requested. The student can continue participation, but improvement must be noted in a given time period set by the school for probation to be lifted. If improvement does not occur, the student can be placed on either Step II or Step III.

STEP II:  SUSPENSION

A student will not be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities until definite improvement has been noted in a two-week period of time. Parents, teacher and principal will schedule a conference.

STEP III:  REMOVAL

A student is prohibited from participating in any extra-curricular activities for the duration of a school quarter following a conference of parents, teacher and principal.

This participation policy applies to both St. Albert the Great School and Religious Education students and is subject to yearly review and revision.

Discipline Overview

The responsibility for enforcing the Discipline Policy and Code for Everyday Living rests with the teachers, principal and other designated individuals. A variety of discipline techniques will be used throughout the day. The principal maintains the right to respond to individual cases, as she judges most appropriate.
